I ran long before I walked
And that got me back aches
And medals I had no spine to carry.
They told me they could barely see my face behind those wings
I told them they weren’t real;
Yet they were if I said so.
I had a “to do” list:
Wake up, change the world, have a sandwich, die(?)
And I absolutely hated sandwiches
My childhood friend, fate,
Got offended when I misspelled it as “faith”,
So it ran away. Hilarious, since we both had asthma and the lung capacity of a dying crone
Now, do I pray for maps and compasses or good wind and calm surfs?
I moved in a land of seas and canals before I could swim
Yet I had three golden medals in drowning.
None of them shiny enough for me to see my reflection
